Sea turtles in Las Galletas, Tenerife south

Book our snorkelling tour from Las Galletas (Tenerife South) to see sea turtles in their habitat. A complete experience that includes a boat trip through the Malpaís de Rasca nature reserve and a photo session.

Snorkelling with turtles in Las Galletas – The activity

Duration: 2 hoursLanguages: Spanish and EnglishCancellation: free of charge up to 24 hours in advance

The activity starts in Las Galletas with a boat trip through the nature reserve of Malpaís de Rasca to the dive site.

Once there, we will have one hour to snorkel in the company of an expert freediving instructor who will give you instructions and accompany you at all times.

In the snorkelling area you can swim with turtles and other marine life such as beautiful rays.

You don’t have to worry about bringing your camera. The activity includes a photo session so you can take home a great souvenir or be the envy of Instagram 😉

In order not to harm the ecosystem of the sea turtles and the rest of the animals, the groups are small (maximum 8 people) and we offer a close and personalised service for the safety of everyone.

Remember: this activity does not guarantee 100% turtle sightings. If you prefer you can see this activity with a high probability of seeing sea turtles in Tenerife.

Some tips for enjoying snorkelling

Our instructor will accompany you throughout the activity so you won’t have any problems, but we still leave you with some snorkelling tips that will be useful:

Fitting the mask

The mask strap should fit snugly around the widest area of the head. To make sure of this, you can press the mask against your face and inhale slightly through your nose. If when you release it, it fits your face and feels comfortable, you have found the right size.

Remember that the mask should not be too tight as this can cause headaches in the long run. If you have long hair, keep it away from your face to avoid hair leakage.

Removing excess water

It is important to know how to get excess water out of your snorkel mask. If water gets in, you can simply come to the surface to deal with it, but you can also do it underwater if you’ve spotted something amazing and don’t want to lose sight of it.

To do this, pull the bottom of the mask away from your face and blow it out.

Well-fitted fins

This is very simple: the fins should feel comfortable. Neither too tight nor too loose. They should fit comfortably on the foot.

Breathing

When snorkelling, take deep, concentrated, calm breaths to relax and enjoy the experience 100%.
